ILRUN, also known as interleukin-like RUN domain-containing protein, is a newly identified protein that plays a role in immune regulation. Located in the cytoplasm, ILRUN contains a RUN domain, which enables protein-protein interactions. Although its precise function is still under investigation, ILRUN is believed to regulate immune responses, possibly influencing cytokine production, activation of immune cells, and inflammatory processes. It has also been proposed as a potential biomarker for certain immune-related or inflammatory disorders.
