Test Overview
GetTested offers the Food Intolerance 40 Items Test, measuring reactions to 40 common foods such as wheat, milk, soy, eggs, and oats.
Symptoms of Food Intolerances
If you struggle with food intolerances, you might notice a range of symptoms. These often include digestive issues like bloating, gas, and diarrhoea. Additionally, you may experience headaches, fatigue, or skin irritation such as eczema. Moreover, these symptoms typically appear after consuming certain foods and can vary in intensity. Consequently, identifying and understanding your specific food intolerances can significantly improve your quality of life.
Things to consier before taking the test
We recommend that you have been exposed to the foods you wish to test for within the last three months – preferably on several occasions during that period. This ensures that any antibodies against foods you may react to are present in your blood at the time of analysis.
If it has been longer than that since you last ate these foods, there is a risk that the test may show weaker reactions, even if a sensitivity is present.
Link Between Food Intolerances and Gut Health
Multiple food intolerances might indicate gut health issues. If you show numerous sensitivities, consider GetTested's Gut Microbiome XL or Leaky Gut Test to check for gut health imbalances.
Understanding the ELISA Method
The test uses the ELISA method to accurately quantify food-related antigens. This technique involves a specific antibody-antigen interaction, ensuring precise and reliable results.
